  1. Resource Description
"Members of a Novel Class of Biological Sensors and Their Potential Applications in Medicine and Microsensor Field (Heme Proteins HemAT-HS and HemAT-BS)" "University of Hawaii researchers have identified HtrX and YhfV, the first myoglobin-like heme proteins in the Archaea and in Bacteria, respectively. Heme proteins play an essential role both in stabilizing molecular oxygen for transport and storage to support living organisms on earth. These functions are performed by hemoglobin (Hb) and myoglobin (Mb)."
