  1. Resource Description
"The UHIMRP Medical Crisis Simulation Competition, aka Sim Wars Hawaii, is a one half day course at the UH SimTiki Simulation Center at the UH JABSOM Kakaako Campus. The purpose of this competition is to review and teach the basic concepts of team leadership in a medical crisis situation. Instead of standard simulation course, this course will be conducted in the “Sim Wars” competition format. “Sim Wars is an interactive simulation competition that allows teams of clinical providers to compete against each other on simulated patient encounters in front of large audiences. The competition allows teams to demonstrate their communication, leadership, and clinical decision making skills. “ A simulated clinical environment will be created for this competition and is produced in a supportive but competitive atmosphere. Residents will be organized into teams. Teams will be paired up and each be given the chance to run a simulated medical crisis situation. Teams will be judged on their performance and advanced based on the judges’ opinion. The format will be a single elimination tournament."
